We are asking those who are involved in the TCN process to share some stories of people coming to faith in Jesus through the witnessing or outreach of their congregation. Here is one e-mailed to us from Pastor James Kellerman of First Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Chicago:
One of my parishioners has a nephew who was nominally raised Roman Catholic but hasn't been active in that church for years. He sensed that his nephew was open to exploring religion more seriously once again. He got him reading the gospel of John to help him understand who Jesus is. He then followed up with the book of Romans as a summary of our beliefs and an explanation of how justification by grace through faith works. Currently, he is working his way through 1 John and has enrolled in the adult catechism class.
Please add your testimony as an encouragement of those who seek to make disciples as part of the TCN process.
Here is another story from Randy Miller at Trinity, Columbia TN, in regard to
their recent Net-Fishing event, putting out door hangers for their
Family Fun Night:
People were shocked that we provided a free event that they could come
out to and be accepted at a church.
I've had 2 calls from families that came to the event wondering about
church and spiritual matters. i am talking with them and trying to hook
them up.
I also heard that one of our "once innactive members who is now becoming
more active" had their kids take the flyers and post them around their
neighborhood. well, their children couldn't get the flyers to stick to
the doors so they started to knock on the doors and hand them to people
to invite them out to the next friday night. how cool is that! i'll be
sharing that story in church for sure! Randy Miller
