Prayer Support for Nashville Coach Training, Nov. 5-7

Greetings from TCN!

As many of you know, TCN will be hosting a Coach Training Event for the Transforming Churches Network this coming Wednesday through Friday in Nashville.

We have found that the impact of our training events is more significant when we have people praying for the participants and for the event itself. I am humbling asking that you would include this event in your personal and corporate prayers.

Here are some specific ways that you can pray for the training event and for all the participants:

1. For protection in all of the travel surrounding the event.
2. That the Lord would encourage and strengthen us during the week.
3. For new insights regarding being empowering leaders.
4. For a fresh sense of vision and direction about to emerge through the week.
5. That adequate rest would be received each night.
6. For excellent health.
7. That the impact of the training would be a blessing back in each participant's region, amongst other LCMS pastors, lay leaders, and churches in the future.

Thank you again for your willingness to pray this week for the Nashville event.

Many blessings,

Terry Tieman

Terry,
With reformation and the reading of Walter Brueggemann, I've been compelled to lament. Brueggemann in reference to Moses and the Exodus, quote: "He(Moses) was not engaged in a struggle to transform a regime; rather, his concern was with the consciousness that undergirded and made such a regime possible." Brueggemann goes on to state, "The tension between God's freedom and God's accessiblity is a tricky issue that every religous person and especially ministers would do well to reflect upon. Indeed, the whole point of having religious functionaries is to assure access."

The god of freedom and justice had been co-opted, utilized by a regime for an eternal now. In place of this access to the God of freedom comes satiation.

Passion as the capacity, willingness, to care, to suffer, to die, to feel was the enemy of imperial reality. This way no one can discern the misery alive in the heart of God. Justice & freedom are inherently promissory. It is suggested by many' that at the heart, for the ordering of any community, is human justice and compassion. The waking from the worship of a static god, to the freedom of God and love of ones neighbor.

As agents of empowerment, I pray for the Holy Spirits guidance, that you are energized not by what has been given, but by what has been promised, and that the imagination of justice and compassion, provides you all with the vision to experience and share God's freedom in the advancement of His kingdom and the building of new communities. May your passion and willingness to care bring protection to you and your families. And may you each personally experience the energizing joy of His love and spirit. Peace be with you, AMEN!
