So I have a couple of questions:
(for some unknown reason the previous page sent so this is in two parts)
On Page 150 there is Table 13.2 which outlines the author's suggested 'Proportionate Meeting Agenda'
- Is any one using this for their board meetings?
- does anyone have a more indepth explanation/definition for each item listed down the left side column?

Thanks for your time ...

We are all using John Kaiser's book "Winning on Purpose?" It was the guide we were presented with to guide us in tranitioning into the accountable Leadership Model of Governance.

So I have a question:

We are new to Transforming for Missions and would like to open discussion around what has been tried, problems and unforeseen rewards as well as just bouncing ideas around.

Anyone interested?

I was wondering if pastors would be interested in meeting for a real-time discussion via Skype? I would find hearing about your journey of revitalization, the bumps and joys of your experience, and possibly share resources with each other. It is definitely an opportunity to commit to pray for each other and for our congregations. I know that I would find it of huge benefit and blessing. Anyone else interested?

Thanks for your input and sharing ... actually, we are getting a slower start here than I really hoped. But the focus on assimilation dovetails very nicely into a few other things that have been developing here. what you have written has helped me put a handle on it. Thanks much. If I can ever be of help just ask.

First, Hot Springs, Arkansas, recently added a Director of Assimilation to their staff and have had some very encouraging results. I encourage you to talk to Jon Beyer about why they went this direction and how they went about it. He is a member of this network. You can find him on the Home Page.

Staffing in the Accountable Leader Model is how the ministry is managed. Whatever a congregation needs to operate will be up to the staff to manage rather than the board to micro-manage as is the habbit of most congregations. By intentionally appointing staff for outreach and assimilation ministries, the outward focus of the congregation will be magnified. We have found that an outgoing person in charge of assimilation is a valuable attition to staff. Such a person notices and engages new people and finds people in the church who can incorporate a new person into their circle of friends. An outreach staff person can involve an entire team in brainstorming and carrying out community outreach or "net fishing" events that will bring larger numbers of people into the pervue of the church where the assimilation people can do their work.

I guess this is as good a place as any to ask for some recommendations. As our Board works through the process of writing the guiding principles I am wondering about how to structure the Staff. Traditionally staffing is done around tasks or areas of ministry. I am exploring structuring the staff around APEPT (Ephesians 4:11-13) or around directions (Up, In, Out). My sense is that for us to connect with those across our neighbourhood we really need to find ways to be extremely outward focussed. Any thoughts or suggestions? Please I want to make the best of this revitalization process we are in.

Hi Chris. This looks like it has some good potential. We definitely need to nix the ads!!!
